Wherein beestings get infected

I just got back from taking Jessica to the doctor.

Her sting welts are atrociously huge, red and warm to the touch. That to me said "mommy, you need to make use of the health plan, schlep to the doctor, and get this taken care of." So I did. Jessica's on a strong antibiotic -- the doctor basically said we all have bacteria on our skin, and when one is stung, the bacteria goes under the sting with the stinger, thus resulting in an infection in some folks.

Our first aid moves were fine and good, but the end result was unavoidable. I'm surprised Geoff's stings didn't get infected, but he's good as gold. Just goes to show someone can look nice and clean and be harboring nasty ickle bacterium, and someone can look the pigsty and be right as rain in the end.

Here are some pictures of her legs. The black lines around her stings are by the doctor. She wants to see the redness not spread beyond the black boundaries of the sharpie. So Jess looks the mottled cow. She got some funny looks in CVS, but I'll tell ya, it didn't bother her.
