O Sacred Head, Now Wounded...

I like going to church. I especially like holidays. Sometimes the hymns are the "hook" that makes it all worthwhile for me.

Let's just say, it is horribly horribly disappointing to go to church ON Good Friday and not sing the one hymn that hooks the holiday for me, that can't really be sung on ANY other day of the year.

For the first time in a long time, I left church with a sour taste in my mouth and a snitty facial expression.

Feh.

  1. I love hymns. I love how the writers can sometimes fit an entire theology into five verses! I also love the Good Friday service, and was sad I had a fever this year and had to stay home. First -- fever stays home anyway. Second -- kissing the feet of Christ knowing that fifty people behind you are going to kiss the same spot and get your cold? Nope. Anyway, I hope the Easter music has the right hooks for you!
