We needed to get the car's exhaust tested today, it is due by 11/19 and we'll be fresh back from NY and ... well. Today was as good a day as any to get it done.
There were 10 cars in line, so I took toffee for a parking lot walk while Doug waited his turn at the 24 hour self-serve kiosk. We had a lot of fun walking about. I witnessed a car accident in the parking lot which was just so Maryland to me.
We headed down the road (up the road?) to Savage to check out the Historic Savage Mill. For while we've been here that's a spot we have never been to.
We had the dog, so we couldn't go in and poke around, but we took a big walk on the nice trails around the property. We had parked in the upper lot, and I had hoped the trail would connect back to the lot with a bridge or something but it did not, so we turned around and went back. It was beautiful out so it was a really nice stroll. A good place to go back to one day. A lot more upscale than I thought, I expected an antiques mall or thrifting, but it was a pretty interesting place with some nice looking restaurants and bakeries and stuff.
After our walk, of course when you are far afield you find a brewery. Black Flag is in Columbia, and I called ahead to make sure dogs were welcome.
Toffee was a champion there, everyone came over to see her and pat her. A good mile and a half walk before going to the brewery was the best thing.
She splooted on the floor and drank two bowls of water.
We got food from the food truck there and an extra hot dog roll for her because Doug forgot cookies. The food truck toasted the bun for her (so nice) and we had a really good visit.
Wanting to be back on the road before it actually got dark out (because it's super hard to see at night around here) we took some beer home to go. Geoff had dinner waiting but I took a nap. I deserved it.
Great fun and full day. We'll come up with our car emissions test plan for another day.
