For the things we got done yesterday, today was a big do almost nothing day. We both slept in, Toffee didn't fuss that she needed to go our or want fed.
I actually got up before Doug, which is wild. That never happens. I got coffee going, and Geoff came up and said he was going to mow the lawn but I asked him to wait until after Doug was up.
I thought about asking Jess if they wanted to come up and spend the day, but I figure even if close, they don't want to have mom up in their face. They did text me that they went to the market and the upstairs neighbor eyeballed the canvas Market Basket bag and asked if they were from up north. Turns out, they're from Bolton and told Jess "I miss Market Basket!"
Dude, don't all of us from the north know this truth...
I sort of napped, but not really. Toffee came into the bedroom with me and we just kind of lazed around. Pictures of her below. Because, of course.
Oh the big exciting thing is last night my cookie scoop tool broke, sadly, so today I ordered a set of three, small, medium, large. I think I had a medium sized one. I am not sure how big/how many ounces an extra large one would be but I'd love to make supersized cookies sometime. We'll see how these do. Maybe an ice cream scoop? that may be the tool for me.
Geoff mowed the lawn and went to the market, and started dinner at about 5:30. It's so nice that he loves to cook and try new recipes. Tonight, he made pork medallions with apple slices in an apple cider reduction. He didn't reduce the apple cider enough, and he should have bought thicker pork medallions. These were wafer thin. But he did an amazing job. I put the reduction sauce into a container and tomorrow I think I'll poach a couple apples in the reduction left overs and some more cider. He's going to buy some sugar free ice cream tomorrow. It'll be a nice treat after dinner.
All told, Football, an inside walk while Doug walked Toffee outside (I wanted to stay near the bathroom, for ... reasons), dinner by Geoff, Steelers game, etc.... Life is good.
Digits below, some Toffee views while we were lazy on the guest bed. Sugar is a little high from dinner and cookies. Understandable.
