There are days I literally can sit on my butt all day. Days like today.
I was going to screenshot my outlook calendar for today, with all the meetings including noon to 1, with conflicts, and with a huge meeting at 3. I didn't because it would include words and emails that are not for public consumption. If I didn't have to be on camera for meetings, chances are I would not shower. I have to remind myself to get up and walk around. To go get food.
My trick is to drink a pint of water pretty much every hour. Then I have to pee. Then I get more water. then I have to pee.
Some days, I have to pee in the middle of a meeting. Days like today.
Getting up and walking around is good self care. Taking a shower is good self care. Telling people I'm stepping away for 10-15 min when it's all almost back to back. Asking people to hold off until after x pm for me to get through meetings and then I'll get back to them.
I'm often a minute or two late for meetings because I go to the bathroom, then the kitchen, and put dishes in the machine, or start to prep for dinner, even if Geoff is the one cooking, like tonight.
And I get more water.
I don't think I could ever go back to the office full time if I behave like this when I am there. But if I went back to the office I'd be awake at 7am, showered, dressed and out the door. I would probably take more breaks to talk to people in the building. But right now I talk to people on slack while I am sitting in meetings, listening when it isn't my turn to talk, or drive, or do.
Today I did get up and get water and walk around a bit more, thankfully. I took a break at 5, Geoff made dinner for us, and then I worked again. I didn't take my inside walk. Doug took the day off to do some of his certification test stuff and go to a dentist appointment. He was completely in my way and cramping my style.

Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated, find your self care.

6:30: 2 ramekins of mixed nuts (there were dried cranberries in there, I noticed)
7pm: Metformin+jardiance
