I meant to say.
Geoff finished his clinical placement in phlebotomy on Friday. Unfortunately, his supervisor is out sick, she's been out all week. She has to sign off on his work. Her evaluation is key to whether or not he passes the class.
He's unbelievably anxious.
After what happened about this time last year when he got jettisoned out of the RadTech program at the other college, he's exceptionally worried. He finished all the work. He had to draw blood from 100 patients, he drew from 196. His goal was 200. He realizes he fell just short but said it was a lot more than what he had to do and he felt like he did a great job. I know he feels like he did everything right.
He emailed his coordinator at the college who said that his supervisor at the lab has until Monday afternoon to turn in his evaluation. He said he's afraid she won't turn it in due to being out sick and all. He's also sad they didn't get a final day together, to have some closure and for him to ask her for her opinions and guidance. I think he wanted to just hear her say that he did good... and this is all causing him incredible stress.
I told him to email the coordinator back, and just be super polite and say that he's incredibly anxious over this, let her know his feelings, and just ask her what happens if the evaluation isn't turned in. Let her know that he's worked so hard, passed all the tests and requirements, didn't miss a day of clinical or a single class. He's put a lot into this, and it feels somewhat in jeopardy due to his supervisor being out. What is her advice.
The coordinator emailed him back, and told him not to worry, "I'll take care of getting what you need." Fingers crossed that's exactly what happens. He needs this win. Dear sweet baby Jesus, let this woman write him a good evaluation.
