Through The Window

This time of year, light is funny. The sun comes up further south than it was, and rips a slice through the bedroom shade. 8am is primetime for blinding me. Our front windows don't have a curtain on them, and where the sun is so far south right now, the light comes through the living room and hits the wall at the closet, and bounces into the bedroom. Into my face.

Upon waking up today, I walked into the living room and looked around. I'd done a fair amount of cleaning while Doug was away and the usual spots where my sins of omission usually show up were looking clean and tidy. That made me feel pretty good.

Our true southern exposure windows were pulling in a good amount of light. Our turkish lamp that we'd bought in New Orleans had one tiny mirror catching rays and throwing them up onto the ceiling. The terrarium that Doug has full of plants (and no fish, thus, not an aquarium!) glowed pretty and green through the water.

I'd placed two plants on top of the terrarium recently, and I liked how the light was filtering through the leaves. The fall foliage on the trees in the yard looked exceptionally pretty. We are almost into double digit November, and it is almost 80.

Today was a beautiful day.
